Appears in the following schemes

Protein function

Encodes a protein involved in the dephosphorylation of phosphorylated phytochromes.

Phenotype

Overexpressor:
Overexpression of Pisum sativum FYPP leads to an early flowering-time phenotype under LD conditions only. [Kim et al., 2002]

RNA interference:
Overexpression of an antisense transcript of FYPP leads to early flowering under LD conditions only. ( Transgenic lines also seem to be very slightly early flowering under SD conditions. The antisense overexpressing line has decreased expression levels of both FYPP1 and FYPP3.) [Kim et al., 2002]

Function:
Dephosphorylates phosphorylated phytochromes, with a preference toward Pfr forms. Plays a major role in the photoperiodic control of flowering time in long days by modulating phytochrome signals in flowering time control (By similarity). [Data from UniProt]
