Phenotype
Remarks: SPL3 expression increases in the shoot apical meristem during the photoperiodic induction of flowering.

SPL4 and
SPL5 was introduced in a
spl3 single mutant background. Transgenic plants have normal plastochron, but there is no mention of the flowering-time phenotype.
[Wang et al., 2008] Overexpressor: Overexpression of a miR156-resistant version of
SPL3 accelerates the transition from the juvenile to the adulte phase and leads to early flowering under both SD and LD conditions.
