Protein function
Encodes a MYB-like transcription factor involved in the control of the circadian clock.
Phenotype
Multiple mutant: rve4;
rve6;
rve8 multiple mutant has an extremely long circadian period and shows delayed and reduced expression of evening-phase clock genes.
[Hsu et al., 2013] Overexpressor: RVE8 overexpressor is late flowering under both SD and LD conditions.
[Rawat et al., 2011] Single mutant: rve8 single mutant seems to be slightly early flowering under both SD and LD conditions. ( More data required to confirm or invalidate this hypothesis.)
[Rawat et al., 2011] Function:Transcriptional activator of evening element (EE)-containing clock-controlled genes. Forms a negative feedback loop with APRR5. Regulates the pattern of histone H3 acetylation of the TOC1 promoter.
