Protein function
Encodes a lysine-specific histone demethylase involved in the regulation of DNA methylation at the
FWA locus.
Phenotype
Multiple mutant: ldl1;
ldl2 multiple mutant is late flowering under LD conditions.
[Jiang et al., 2007][Shafiq et al., 2014][Caro et al., 2012] Single mutant: ldl2 single mutant is not late flowering under LD. ( No data available under SD conditions.)
[Jiang et al., 2007] Function:Probable histone demethylase that reduces the levels of histone H3 Lys-4 methylation in chromatin of the floral repressor FLOWERING LOCUS C (FLC) and the sporophytically silenced floral repressor FWA. Seems to act in partial redundancy with FLOWERING LOCUS D (FLD) to repress FLC expression. Required for cytosine methylation of FWA.
