Appears in the following schemes

Time-course regulation of photoperiodic pathway
General processes & autonomous pathway

Protein function

Encodes a H3K4me demethylase.

Phenotype

Overexpressor:
ELF6 overexpressor does not have a flowering-time phenotype. ( Analysis performed in the Ws background.) [Noh et al., 2004]

Single mutant:
elf6 single mutant is early flowering under both SD and LD conditions. [Noh et al., 2004]

Function:
Acts probably as a histone Lys-4 (H3K4me) demethylase. Involved in transcriptional gene regulation. Acts as a repressor of the photoperiodic flowering pathway and of FT. Binds around the transcription start site of the FT locus. [Data from UniProt]
