Appears in the following schemes

Sugar pathway

Protein function

Encodes the small subunit of an ADP-glucose pyrophosphorylase.

Phenotype

Single mutant:
adg1 single mutant is starchless and late flowering under both SD and LD conditions. ( adg1 single mutant shows pleoitropic developmental defects.) [Ventriglia et al., 2008]

Function:
This protein plays a role in synthesis of starch. It catalyzes the synthesis of the activated glycosyl donor, ADP-glucose from Glc-1-P and ATP. [Data from UniProt]
