Circadian clock overview

Protein function

Encodes a component of the circadian clock.

Phenotype

Overexpressor:
BOA overexpressor is late flowering under LD conditions. ( BOA overexpressor is also late flowering under 12h-light - 12h-dark conditions. No data available under SD conditions.) [Dai et al., 2011]

Function:
Transcription factor that is a critical component of the regulatory circuit of the circadian clock. Binds to specific sites on CCA1 promoter leading to CCA1 activation. Is required for the rhythmic expression of other clock genes such as LHY, GI and APRR1/TOC1. [Data from UniProt]
