Appears in the following schemes

FLC regulation through protein complexes

Protein function

Encodes a protein required for FRIGIDA-mediated activation of FLC.

Phenotype

Remarks:
flx4 mutation has only very little or no effect on the flowering time of the Col-0 background. [Ding et al., 2013][Lee et al., 2013]

Single mutant:
flx4 mutation supresses the late-flowering phenotype of non-vernalized Col FRI plants. [Ding et al., 2013][Lee et al., 2013]

Remarks:
flx single mutant has reduced FLC expression levels. [Lee et al., 2013]

Function:
Involved in FLC activation and flowering time control, but has no transcriptional activation activity. Probably part of the FRI-C complex, but is not redundant with FLX. [Data from UniProt]
